Sustainability

OVERVIEW

At Buff & Bae, operated by Anayah Cosmetics Ltd, sustainability is an ongoing journey rather than a finished destination. As a small, independent brand, we are committed to making conscious, responsible choices wherever possible while remaining transparent about where we are today and where we aim to improve.

This policy outlines our current practices and our future goals as we continue to grow.

SECTION 1 – PRODUCT & INGREDIENT CONSIDERATIONS

All Buff & Bae products are:

  • Vegan

  • Cruelty-free

  • Formulated without parabens, sulfates, or mineral oils

We prioritise high-quality ingredients and thoughtful formulation. While many of our body butters and body oils are predominantly naturally derived, some fragrance components may contain synthetic elements, which are used to ensure product stability, safety, and scent performance.

We are committed to transparency and do not claim to be fully natural or chemical-free, recognising that safe cosmetic formulation often requires a balance of natural and synthetic ingredients.

SECTION 2 – PACKAGING

We aim to minimise packaging impact while maintaining product safety and quality.

  • Our glass bottles and jars with aluminium components are recyclable and reusable

  • Body oils are currently packaged in PET bottles with plastic caps, which are recyclable

  • We recognise that some packaging formats can be improved and are actively reviewing more sustainable alternatives as we scale

As our business grows, we aim to transition towards packaging solutions that further reduce plastic use without compromising product integrity.

SECTION 3 – MANUFACTURING & OPERATIONS

All products are:

  • Made and packed in small batches

  • Produced in a controlled environment

  • Manufactured with a focus on reducing excess stock and unnecessary waste

Small-batch production allows us to better manage resources, maintain quality, and avoid overproduction.

SECTION 4 – SHIPPING & WASTE REDUCTION

We make conscious efforts to reduce waste in our shipping and fulfilment process, including:

  • Using recyclable outer packaging where possible

  • Minimising unnecessary outer layers

  • Continuously reviewing packaging materials used for dispatch

At present, some packaging elements are used to ensure products arrive safely. As we grow, we aim to refine our shipping process to reduce reliance on additional protective materials and move towards more streamlined, product-specific packaging solutions.

SECTION 5 – CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

We acknowledge that we are not a zero-waste or fully sustainable business at this stage. However, sustainability remains a core consideration in our decision-making.

Our goals include:

  • Exploring more sustainable packaging options

  • Reducing unnecessary packaging materials

  • Reviewing ingredient sourcing as our product range expands

  • Improving operational efficiency to minimise waste

We are committed to continuous review and improvement as our resources, scale, and access to sustainable solutions evolve.

SECTION 6 – TRANSPARENCY & ACCOUNTABILITY

We believe sustainability starts with honesty. We avoid making absolute or misleading environmental claims and aim to communicate clearly about our current practices and future intentions.

This policy will be reviewed and updated as our business develops and as we introduce improvements across our products and operations.
